A PUB boss has been placed on the Sex Offender’s register after being convicted of offences against staff members and a customer.

Forty-eight-year-old Keith McDonald - who is the human resources manager of the Ship Inn in Melrose, where his wife is the licensee - was found guilty of four offences following a two day trial at Selkirk Sheriff Court.

They involved indecently assaulting two employees and uttering sexual remarks and committing a breach of the peace over a period of almost 10 years.

McDonald was also found guilty of sexually assaulting a 19-year-old woman, who was a friend of a staff member and was having a drink in the Ship Inn in July 2013.

Sheriff Janys Scott deferred sentence until April 7 for background reports and ordered McDonald’s name be placed on the Sex Offender’s Register.
