A MELROSE pub doorman has been found guilty of assaulting a customer to his severe injury and permanent impairment following a five day jury trial at Selkirk Sheriff Court.
Wojtek Imbiorkiewicz was convicted of punching the man on the head and causing him to fall to the ground at The Ship Inn in East Port, Melrose, during the early hours of December 27.
The 24-year-old of Croft Street, Galashiels, was found not guilty of assaulting a second man during the same incident.
His co-accused James Green, 30, of Primrose Bank, Galashiels, was found not guilty of both charges.
Sheriff Peter Paterson deferred sentence on Imbiorkiewicz until December 9 for background reports.
