SEVERAL vehicles were targeted by a vandal in Peebles this week.

It is estimated that thousands of pounds worth of damage was caused after cars parked in the Damcroft area were 'keyed' on Monday night.

And the attacks continued in neighbouring streets the following day.

One resident told us: "This person has apparently done this with a knife and they need to be stopped.

"It is mindless damage to property that will cost the owners a lot of money."

Vehicles were first scratched on Monday night in Damcroft.

And further vehicles were damaged nearby throughout Tuesday on both March Street and Rosetta Road.

Police Scotland are appealing for anyone who has any information.

A spokesman said: "We are investigating several reports of vandalism to cars in the Damcroft, March Street and the Rosetta Road areas of Peebles.

"The incidents happened between 11pm on Monday and 5pm on Tuesday."

Anyone with information can contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 941 of August 30, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
