BIKERS from far and wide roared into Peebles for the annual Lothian and Borders Classic and Vintage Motorcycle Club show on Sunday (May 6).

The event, which has been held in the town’s Drill Hall for over 20 years, saw around 50 entires and 20 stall holders selling a range of autojumble for motorcycles and their riders.

There was plenty in store for petrol heads to see, including a vintage BMW and a Velocette Valiant.

Secretary Elma Belleville told us: “The sun shone on Sunday and brought out a vast number of classic motorcycle enthusiasts to walk and talk classic bikes. Our audience comes from all over Scotland, especially when the weather is kind to us.

“The unique thing about our show is that the visiting public are the judges of all the six classes of motorcycles and only their votes determine the winners.”

The club, which has over 200 members, meets on the second Thursday of each month at The Leadburn Inn, near Penicuik.

Members also organise a variety of runs across the country throughout the year.
