CHANNELKIRK Primary pupils almost took part in a real-life evacuation last week, as they braved the elements to take part in a World War II re-enactment.
Primary 5, 6 and 7 pupils took part in the project on Thursday when children from South Queensferry were 'evacuated" through the snow to spend a day in Oxton.
The 64 pupils wore period dress for the day and took part in popular war-time activities such as knitting, drawing and baking.
P5 teacher Natasha Mclaren said: 'We did think that they children might have to stay and be billeted off to local families! Luckily the day was able to go ahead as planned.
'I think by doing this the children can empathise more with what life was like during the war. They seemed to enjoy the project, it was a good experience for them.'
