MOST schools across the Borders will re-open to pupils from Monday (January 11).
However, primaries in Broughton, Ettrick, Heriot, Roberton and Yarrow will remain closed.
And not all bus services are running.
Parents of children who attend Ettrick and Yarrow Primary Schools are being advised to take their children to Kirkhope Primary if they can do so safely.
And, likewise, children who attend Heriot will be welcomed at Fountainhall and those at Roberton can spend the day at Drumlanrig.
Nurseries at the following schools remain closed on Monday: Burnfoot, Hobkirk, Reston.
The following bus services will operate with some restrictions: B04/B11 (via main roads only); E10 (will not stop at Ancrum); E20 (from Melrose Square and Buccleuch Street only); J02 (not via Nisbet); K04 (via main road only, not Makerstoun); P02 (will operate normally, subject to access to Cardrona village).
But the following services will not be operating: J01, J03, J07, J10, K15, S09, S15, S18.
Those children who are walking to school should take extra care and ensure that they wear appropriate footwear and clothing to suit the conditions.
Due to restricted car parking in all high schools, staff are being asked to car-share where possible. Senior pupils must leave their cars at home.
Parents are advised that they still have the responsibility to ensure that their children are able to travel safely and they should exercise their own judgement of the conditions that prevail at the time.
A spokesperson for Scottish Borders Council said: "We are working towards getting all schools and nurseries up and running for Tuesday (January 12)."
