YOBS caused hundreds of pounds worth of damage after running riot at a local beauty spot last week.
Wooden benches were ripped out of a gazebo in the grounds of Thirlestane Castle in Lauder and set on fire.
Bottles were also left littering the woodland which surrounds the visitor attraction.
It is believed youths are responsible for the damage, estimated at £500, during the Easter holidays.
Police said it appeared the culprits made a bonfire during the impromptu party. They have stepped up patrols in the area and have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
