He became well known after he appeared in a 1989 TV documentary about Tourette's and further TV appearances since have helped him raise awareness of the condition.
Speaking on his page on social-netowrking site Facebook, John, who now spends most of his spare time campaigning for charities involved with Tourette's syndrome, said: "David Cameron = Uneducated Numpty.
"After five or so television appearances to try and create understanding and empathy for people with Tourettes Syndrome and the so Called Leader of our country has a snide dig about Tourettes in the houses of parliament. What a cheap shot.
"Has putting myself out there and letting the public including our politicians see how difficult it is to get by on everyday simple tasks and things that most of us take for granted been a waste of time? Lead by example you idiot..."
