A BIG-HEARTED bunch of walkers stepped out into the sunshine to raise thousands of pounds for charity.

Volunteer fundraiser Karen Ritson, from Galashiels, is pictured putting the fun into fundraising.

More than 250 people took part in the annual Daffodil Walk in Melrose in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care on Sunday.

It was led by the pipes and drums of the Jedburgh British Legion Pipe Band.

This year, a new 10 kilometre route along Borders General Hospital's Field of Hope was added to the fundraiser which is estimated to have raised more than £4000.
