MOTORBIKES and televisions were among the high value items stolen after thieves broke in to a house and seven garages in Galashiels in one night.

Police have appealed for information following the raids in the town's Mossilee Road this week.

It is believed the thieves struck on Tuesday, August 7, sometime between 1am and 4am.

A police spokesman said: "Lothian and Borders Police are investigating following a number of break-in and thefts from garages in the Scottish Borders.

"Seven units in Mossilee Road, Galashiels were entered between 1am and 4am on Tuesday, August 7, and various high-value items were stolen from within a number of these.

"A house in the street was also broken into and over a number of goods were taken.

"Anyone who remembers seeing anything suspicious in the area is asked to contact police immediately."

Galashiels Police Station can be contacted by calling 01896 752222.
