THE Right Angle Theatre Company recently received a substantial grant from the John Leishman Memorial Trust to help them upgrade their sound system for the annual pantomime in the Volunteer Hall.

This year's production was Jac and the Beanstalk and took place earlier this month.

The John Leishman Memorial Trust was set up in 1978 by a number of friends and colleagues of the late John Leishman to commemorate his name and to acknowledge the contribution he made to musical enjoyment in the local area.

The main objects of the Trust are to provide financial support to advance the knowledge and appreciation of the music and drama to persons and groups in the community.

The Trust is a fully legally constituted charitable trust administered by a group of local Trustees and supported by a number of patrons whose financial help is much appreciated. Since 1978 grants in excess of £70,000 have been made to individuals and groups.

The Right Angled Theatre Company spokesperson said: "We are deeply indebted to the John Leishman Trust for this support. The new system was used recently and was a huge success."
