Ayton to Chirnside road closure
WORK is continuing to repair a collapsed culvert on the B6355 Ayton to Chirnside road. Scottish Borders Council was forced to close the route in both directions earlier last week.
A new 900mm pipe, which is required to replace the old culvert, is due to be installed tomorrow (Wednesday) with tarring works also set to be carried out tomorrow and Thursday.
Weather permitting, it is hoped the road will be re-open for the weekend.
Further works are expected to take place next week, with traffic lights in place.
A diversion route is currently in place along the A6105 Berwick Road for all traffic.
