A PUBLIC meeting is to be held to discuss Scottish Borders Council's (SBC) plans to relocate Duns Primary School from its present site to the former Berwickshire High School.

The meeting will take place in the current primary school at 6pm on Monday 25 February, as part of a consultation process.

SBC has allocated just under £7million within its capital programme to relocate the school, with work due to start in 2014/15.

The Council also proposes to site a locality support centre for children with additional needs at the relocated Duns Primary School. As a result, current specialist provision in Chirnside and Coldstream would be closed.

The consultation process runs until 15 March and copies of the proposal paper are available on SBC's website: http://www.scotborders.gov.uk/consultations
