PERFECT Harmony, the charity which provides free entertainment in residential homes across the Borders, has put out an appeal for volunteers to help run the organisation.

The group was launched in November last year to replace the award-winning Harmony which fell into temporary abeyance following the death of its secretary Jim Smith.

Now, with the help of a £10,000 lottery grant and £6,000 from the Robertson Trust, the charity is planning to put on 60 concerts a month this year.

Its mission is to enhance the lives of the frail elderly and other vulnerable people through music, song and dance.

“We have no shortage of performers who came forward to create the new group, but unfortunately none of them have the time or experience to handle the administration and the fundraising on which we depend,” said singer/guitarist Les Sneddon.

“Ideally, we are looking for people with a professional business background, possibly retired and looking for a new challenge, to help keep our affairs in order and ensure our good work continues.” Anyone interested should contact Les on 01450 870670 or email admin@perfect-harmony.co.uk
