TWEEDBANK Community Council has received an apology from First Bus following a catalogue of complaints about local services affecting the village.
School children travelling home from Earlston were forced to walk the final part of their journey after a window of a double decker bus was smashed after hitting a branch.
Some pupils at Galashiels Academy were turned away due to a lack of space after a single decker bus was sent to pick them up on their first day back - and other days the service was late.
And a mother and her three young children were unable to complete their journey between Innerleithen and Tweedbank because the connecting service in Galashiels wasn’t able to accommodate a double buggy.
Chairman John Cavaroli said: “First have apologised for the inconvenience.”
