SIR, I would like to comment on the letter from John Melrose where he extols the virtues of Norway’s oil fund and the UK’s lack of one.
Unfortunately, just like Alex Salmond, he forgot to mention that Norway’s oil and gas fields are immense, compared to the UK.
Norwegians also pay far more tax and their cost of living is higher.
