SIR, Thank you for the publicity you gave to the “Angel’s Wings” ceremony held in Galashiels on Friday, November 14.
A good crowd turned out to witness this moving and important remembrance which highlights the wonderful structure which is the War Memorial itself but also recognises the sacrifice made by so many people from Galashiels.
I am sure everybody who attended would like to say thank you to all of the participants who made it such a memorable occasion. A particular acknowledgement for Alasdair Hutton whose narrative throughout the Ceremony was informative, moving and perfect for the night.
To the team who spent so many hours discussing and arranging I say thank you for your support and help.
I am, etc.
Councillor Sandy Aitchison Galashiels and District Scottish Borders Council
