SIR, Can we really believe what councillors tell us?
Before the last council elections when in opposition, the SNP councillors voted against an Executive-style committee because it was unfair and undemocratic, yet now they are in power, they are very much part of it.
As for the so-called Independent councillors - they get elected on an Independent ticket then form a group and elect a leader, then believe it or not join a coalition with two political parties. They then vote as they are told to vote.
The easiest thing to do is not believe what any of them tell us - then we won’t feel so let down.
