DENHOLM Primary School has triumphed in this year's Small Schools Mixed Netball Tournament organised by Borders Sport & Leisure.
Fifteen netball teams from across the Scottish Borders took part in the event held at the Queens Leisure Centre in Galashiels on November 7.
The annual tournament is growing in popularity year on year with the standard of play consistently improving. Open to schools with roll calls of 115 pupils or less, the tournament gives the smaller Borders schools the opportunity to pit their pupils' skills against one another.
Ewan Jackson, Chief Executive of Borders Sport and Leisure, the social enterprise, not-for-profit company that runs many of the sports and leisure facilities and programmes in the region spoke to us.
She said: "The support for this competition has been excellent and we'd especially like to thank the coaches and volunteers for all the efforts they put into preparing for the event.
"The standard of play is getting better year on year and this event plays an important role in motivating the teams to keep trying their best."
Denholm beat Broughton and Newcastleton Primaries in the round-robin final to clinch the Small School Trophy.
