FOLLOWING yet another highly successful season, Ladhope Inn Fishing Club members landed a few final catches at the annual prizegiving evening.

The presentation night was held on Saturday in the Ladhope following the last outing of the season.

And a few pieces of silverware were awarded.

After a closely contested year on the riverbank and lochside, the championship title was eventually shared between John (Duck) Frater and Mike Blackwood who tied on 47 fish.

The heaviest fish trophy went to Frank Daly who landed a massive rainbow trout, which weighed in at 11lb 7oz, on the last outing of the season at Markle Fisheries.

Frank also picked up the Quaich for the heaviest three fish bag at the Markle Fisheries.

Mike Blackwood from the Ladhope Inn Fishing Club told the Border Telegraph: "Many thanks to the Ladhope Inn and all who sponsored the prizes.

"A special thanks also to Frank Daly for his excellent year as club captain."
