AROUND 30 runners braved wet and wild conditions to raise hundreds of pounds for charity with a night-time run in the Borders.
The event saw entrants complete a four mile route from Bowden to the top of the Eildon Hills and back.
It was run under the cover of darkness with runners using head torches to navigate the tricky terrain - and light up the local beauty spot to create a stunning spectacle.
Runners, young and old alike, experienced and inexperienced, set off in torrential rain and a biting cold wind to reach their target before returning splattered in mud to tuck into delicious home made traybake.
Friday's fun run was organised by local athlete Audrey Power in aid of Children in Need. And it raised "an amazing" £325.22.
The event was such a success, it is now hoped it could become an annual event - even if one or two people may have preferred it was held in the summer!
