AFTER seven years in charge at Netherdale George Graham has left Gala.

Following last weekend's defeat at Currie, which saw the Maroons forced into a relegation play-off, the former Scotland prop's future hung in the balance.

And a meeting was called in the clubrooms last Tuesday to discuss the 50-year-old's future.

Yesterday (Sunday) it was confirmed that Graham, who guided Gala to promotion as well as within touching distance of the title over the past seven seasons, had left the club by mutual consent.

In a brief statement from president Graham Low, he said: "George has left Gala RFC by mutual consent. The club would like to thank George for his contribution to Gala over the past seven seasons."
