RIDERS from all over the world including New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, Jamaica, Spain, Poland, Italy, Germany, Sweden, France and a surprisingly large contingent of Americans are heading for the Tweed Valley.

TweedLove is now the biggest bike festival in the UK.

With over 35 events running between the May 14 and 30, the Peebles-based festival has something for everyone, from balance bike races to seven hour endurance events, from urban cyclocross to the biggest mtb enduro in the UK, from film, to photography and much much more.

Organisers predict that around 4,500 riders will take part in this year's TweedLove events, including around 500 children.

Preparations have been ongoing for months with a total of 347 volunteers signed up to make the festival a success.

Sunday, May 15: Skinny Tweed – A 45 miles sportive taking place on the quiet and beautiful roads of the Scottish Borders. A cracking ride with a fabulously friendly atmosphere.

Monday & Tuesday, May 16 & 17: Pilates – more power to your pedals! Local physio Ross Grieve demonstrates techniques to strengthen your core and deliver more speed and control to your riding.

Tuesday, May 17: The SEStrans Family Ride is a local legend! Join hundreds of cyclists for a friendly car-free pedal round the circuit which starts and finishes on Peebles high street. Afterwards leave your bike in the free bike parking lot on Tweed Green and watch all the LoveCross action.

Tuesday, May 17: LoveCross – an exhilarating fun packed rip roaring urban cyclocross-inspired race based in the heart of Peebles, LoveCross is a non-stop action packed, open to all, battle for the podium. Almost as fun to watch as it is to enter! Come and soak up the atmosphere and get shaking those cowbells!

Thursday, May 19: Film Night (sold out). Mountain bike legends Martyn Ashton and Chris Akrigg will talk about their incredible careers, whilst local adventurer Ed Shoote will be talking about his adventures on a bike. Plus films, photography and more!

Friday, May 20: KICC Kiduro - a brand new event for this year to satisfy the demands of the kids who want a piece of enduro action too! The KICC Kiduro will start with some coaching sessions, followed by a junior sized enduro race.

Friday & Saturday, May 20 & 21: Shimano TweedLove International mtb enduro race and expo - The Shimano TweedLove International endurance race is the biggest UK mtb enduro event of the year, with the biggest start line, the biggest prize money and some of the fastest riders on the planet. Setting off from Peebles, the race will take in some of the best trails the Tweed Valley has to offer and some great spectator sport! World champion Tracy Mosley will be defending her title and some world class riders will be riding for victory, including the Tweed Valley’s Katy Winton and Gary Forest. The Shimano TweedLove International Enduro is part of the TweedLove Triple Crown Series, with 600 riders taking to the trails around Glentress and Innerleithen. The event village will be on Tweed Green in Peebles. Soak up the vibe of the big race at a busy and exciting event HQ, right in the middle of town – grab a beer, check out the bling bike kit, hang out with the riders, get something to eat or just enjoy the unique bike festival atmosphere by the River Tweed. Head out into the valley to see the riders practicing – course maps will be available with advice on best spectator spots for you to see the best action. Bring your bike – you won’t run out of great trails to ride, we guarantee it! There will be lots of chances to eat, drink and be merry too with festival food including wood fired pizza, flatbreads, risotto, ice-cream, cakes and of course loads of coffee. We are totally chuffed to have Tempest Brewing Co. onboard as our beer sponsors - they are bringing their funky beer tent to Tweed Green, so there will be plenty of opportunity to sample their awesome beer. The bar will be open 5-9pm on Friday, Saturday 12noon – 9pm, Sunday 12noon till 6pm.

Wednesday, May 25: The Chase is TweedLove’s Mountain Bike Orienteering event, a fun off road events where you choose the course!

Thursday, May 26: PCC Dirt Crit - The legendary Peebles Cycling Club are holding a round of their famous Dirt Crit series at Glentress as part of TweedLove. These races are hugely successful and attract a big field of visiting and local riders with great course, friendly atmosphere and of course the revered Cake Stall!

Saturday, May 28: Glentress Seven – a seven hour MTB race for individuals and teams of two and three, is now one of the country’s most popular trail events. The emphasis is on great trails and a friendly, fun atmosphere – the route features some normally unavailable Singletrack. The idea is to complete as many laps as possible within seven hours.

Sunday, May 29: Family Day - 320 children are already booked in for three levels of friendly fun ‘races’ on grass tracks with the emphasis on taking part and having fun. Every child gets a pro-style race board with their name on it to keep as a souvenir. From age 3 to age 12, balance bikes and pedal bikes.

Monday, May 30: Natural Tweed sold out. A back country route handpicked by local guides Ridelines will take you up big hilss and places you almost certainly won’t have been before!
