BORDERS athlete Beth Hobbs climbed to victory and a Scottish title on Saturday.

The Moorfoot runner won the Scottish Under 15 Girls Hill Running Championship title at Ben Lomond leading from gun to tape on the uphill only 2.1km course.

And there were also silver medals too for both her Peebles training partners.

Mairi Wallace was second in the Under 17 Women's race over 2.8km uphill only, just being outgunned in the final stretch by North District cross-country champion Grace Whelan.

And Ethan Elder was runner-up in the 2.1km Under 15 Boys race, leading until inside the final 100 metres when he was just ousted from the gold medal position by Ian MacWhinnie from Fife AC.
