THE Borders Under 12 team travelled to Cumbernauld on Saturday to play in the annual Anglo Scottish Invitational tournament.

Over two days of competition, the Borders played teams from seven other regions in Scotland and England.

The young Borders team gave it their all in each match and ended the tournament in seventh place overall.

Lothian won the tournament beating Yorkshire on a games count back.

A spokesman for Borders Badminton told us: "Well done to all the players for their hard work and effort during the tournament and to the friends and family who turned up to voice their support."

Team managers Dave Burns and Christine Wylie would like to thank Audrey Rae and Craig Pollock for their help and support at this event.

The Borders team were: Jessica Mitchell (Peebles), Kieran Burns (Duns), Tilly Lucas (Coldingham), Gemma Fullerton (Gordon), Charlotte Kimm (Kelso) and Sophie Skeet (Jedburgh). Kieran Burns (Duns), Finlay Rhind (Duns), Duncan Crowe (St. Abbs), Lewis Learmonth (Duns) and Mathew Domingo (Jedburgh).
