TWEEDBANK Thistle Football Club welcomed Hibernian star Lewis Allan to their annual awards evening.

Once again a great turnout of players, parents and sponsors filled Tweedbank Community Centre for the presentation and disco to celebrate the end of season 2015/2016.

Each player was presented with a medal and individual award for their efforts from a wide range of achievements such as most skilful, best goal, most hardworking and best goal celebration.

Players' awards for each age group were also given for Coaches' Most Improved Player (P1-P7) and Players' Player (P3-P7).

Coaches' Most Improved Player of the year, 2010 team: Cameron Tunmore, 2009 team: Gregor Brown, 2008 team: Brook Tanner, 2007 team: Jaxon Hewitson, 2006 team: Callum Tait, 2005 team: Harry Fowler and 2004 team: Caitlin Green.

Players' Player of the year, 2008 team: Alfie Ainslie, 2007 team: Cameron Chapman, 2006 team: Addison Bell, 2005 team: Robbie Patterson and 2004 team: Craig Johnston.

Chairman David Moffat told the Border Telegraph: “This has been another amazing season for our wee club, we have seen another increase in player numbers, the players and equally as important the parents have supported us with everything we have done from fund raising walk up the Eildon’s, BBQ’s, hosting our own festival, coaching camps to attending the Fruit and Flower Parade at Tweedbank Fair, showing we are not just a football club but also a huge part of Tweedbank community."
