EXPERIENCED Heriots duo Colin Thomson and Rob More guided the capital side to a five wicket victory as Gala suffered a second successive loss at Meigle Park.

The pair came together with Heriots 2nds 58 for 4 chasing 139, but put on an 80 run partnership to ensure the visitors gained revenge after Gala beat them at Goldenacre earlier in season.

Gala had earlier suffered another collapse, as they went from 120 for 4 to 139 all out.

Rory Hawes lead the way with 56, while a number of other players got starts to innings but did not go on to make significant scores.

Callum McDougall claimed four for 20 to clean up Gala’s tail.

Gala started well as Dinesh Tharanga took the wickets of Jed Case and Chris Acheson.

Robbie Pringle then claimed Richard Cummine and Chris Goddard to pull Gala firmly into the game.

But More (34 not out) and Thomson (45) blunted the Gala attack and batted sensibly.

Thomson was out just before the end but More knocked off the winning runs.

Best bowlers for Gala were Tharanga (3 for 24) and Pringle (2 for 16).
