DIVISION A title holders West Barns Star had a player sent off for the second week in succession, but still won to close the gap on leaders Stow to one point.

The Dunbar side saw Scott Souness dismissed for two yellow cards in the first half with the game finely poised at 1-1 after Blair Moffat had put Tweeddale Rovers ahead only for Marc Gardiner to equalise for the hosts.

Jack Boyd put Star 2-1 up before Craig Smith looked to have secured the points in stoppage time, before Blair Meikle grabbed Rovers’ second.

Pawel Marszalek rescued a point for Stow as they drew 2-2 with Jed Legion.

Ewan Riddell had scored a rare goal for Stow which looked to have set up a fifth straight win.

But Legion clawed themselves into a 2-1 lead until Marszalek goal five minutes from time.

Gordon pulled themselves off the bottom of Division A with a 2-1 win over Langholm Legion.

Former Selkirk player Kerr Scott scored a brace for new side Newtown as they eased to a 3-0 win at Kelso Thistle. David Richardson grabbed the Villagers other goal to see them remain top of Division B with a 100 per cent record.

Lewis Ferguson and Scott Duncan ensured Hawick Legion claimed a point in a 2-2 draw with Linton Hotspur, while Gala Hotspur and Leithen Rovers picked up their first points of the season when they shared a 2-2 draw.

Lauder chalked up their biggest win for a number of seasons with an 8-0 triumph over Kelso Amateurs to move into second in Division C. Mark Williamson grabbed a hat-trick, Ben Gettel a double as well as goals from Andrew Kay, Mark Todd and Derek Stoddart.

Louis Johnstone scored a treble as Hawick Legion Rovers recovered from a 10-3 mauling at Berwick Colts the previous week to dish out a 7-1 win at St Boswells.
