THE Borders Under 14 badminton team travelled to the Sir Craig Reedie Badminton Scotland Centre, Glasgow on Sunday to play in the SSBU Inter-Area Tournament.

There were some tough matches for the young Borders team but a good experience for them, particularly for the newer members of the squad this season.

They competed well, kept fighting for every point and there was some great badminton played with quite a few games being lost by a couple of points. Mid & East Lothian won the tournament with Edinburgh runners up and North East in third place.

Dave Burns and Harry Turnbull would like to thank all the parents who helped with transport and who voiced their support throughout the tournament. Well done to all the players for all their hard work and effort during the tournament.

Once again the behaviour of the players both on and off the court was superb.

Borders 1 Edinburgh 6, Borders 4 Glasgow 3, Borders 3 Renfrew 4, Borders 3 North East 4, Borders 1 Mid & East Lothian 6.
