GREENLAW, Gordon, Tweeddale Rovers and Chirnside United all chalked up impressive South Cup victories against non-Border League opponents.

Conor Devaney’s double helped Greenlaw return from the long trip to Larkhall Thistle with a 4-1 triumph, while Chirnside knocked out 2012/13 South Cup winners and former BAL side Pencaitland 5-3.

Simon Warren, Naz Macdonald, Blair Moffat and Craig Collin were Tweeddale Rovers’ scorers as they eased to a 4-0 win at Dunbar Athletic.

And Gordon chalked up an excellent 4-3 win at Tranent Amateurs.

However, there was South Cup agony for Lauder, who led 3-2 at Law Parish through goals from Mark Williamson, Chris Boggs and Cammy Moffat only for a late equaliser followed by an extra time strike taking the Carluke side through.

Lauder manager Kenny Donaldson said: “While disappointed to be out, I am proud of the effort of our young side with a number of regulars missing.”

A cracking cup tie at Wilton Lodge Park saw Hawick Waverley defeat Biggar United 6-3, with Taylor Hope – who has returned to the club after leaving Gala Fairydean Rovers – scoring a hat-trick.

Hawick Legion shocked BAL Division A side Jed Legion with a 3-2 win thanks to goals from Scott Duncan, Andrew Maltman and Lewis Ferguson.

But there were heavy cup defeats for Selkirk Victoria, Earlston Rhymers and Melrose.

Stow’s stuttering Division A title challenge took another dent with a 2-2 draw at Langholm Legion.

Brian Mattinson had put Langholm in front twice only for Ryan Pritchard and Shaun Hardie to peg back their hosts.

Stow now trail Division A leaders West Barns Star by four points after the East Lothian men won 5-1 over Tweedmouth Amateurs.

Newtown are one point off top spot in Division B after a fine 4-1 win at Linton Hotspur, while Arron Brunton and Dillon Rice’s goals ensured bottom side Leithen Rovers got a rare point at Kelso Thistle.

Sean Robertson’s late strike saw Duns Amateurs extend their Division C lead after a 3-2 win over Berwick Colts, with Hawick Legion Rovers and Ancrum drew 2-2.
