WHITEHILL manager David Bingham hailed his players after they scored four goals in the final eight minutes to beat Gala Fairydean Rovers.

Welfare were trailing 3-1 going into the 82nd minute but Ciaren Chalmers, Connor Brydon and a double from Scott Gormley snatched victory.

Bingham said: “My players never gave up and they deserve huge credit.

“I played in a similar match for Forfar when we came from behind to beat Queen of the South in the Scottish Cup… and I got a hat-trick.

“It is important to play to the 90 minutes.”

Dale O’Hara had earlier equalised from the penalty spot after George Windram had fired Gala in front.

But Sean Paliczka and Stuart Noble fired the visitors back in front during the second half.

East Stirlingshire goal machine Andy Rodgers isn’t giving up the title chase after netting a further double against Vale of Leithen to take his season’s tally to 24.

Paul Sludden and a Danny O’Donnel own goal gave Shire a 4-2 victory to remain in second behind runaway leaders East Kilbride.

Rodgers, who has agreed a new season-long deal with Shire, said: “All we can do is keep winning games.

“We dropped points last week so it was important to get the win today. We weren’t great in the first half but we put things right after the break.”

Shire remain 10 points adrift of leaders East Kilbride who beat Hawick Royal Albert 4-2.

Sean Winter notched up a double and Declan Hughes and Jack Smith were also on target.

Josh Morris grabbed both of the Hawick goals.

Spartans moved up to third in the table with a 2-1 win over BSC Glasgow at Ainslie Park.

Dan Ward and Scott Maxwell were on target for the home side while Shaun Bowers scored a late consolation for Broomhill.

Jack Downie salvaged a point for Civil Service Strollers as they came from behind to draw 1-1 with Cumbernauld Colts.

Preston Athletic moved further clear off danger with a shock 3-2 win at Dalbeattie Star.

New Selkirk manager Ian Fergus watched his team salvage a point with two late goals at Falkirk Stadium.

Kerr Scott and Phil Addison scored in the final 10 minutes to earn a 3-3 draw with Stirling University.

Fergus told us: "The players showed great character to come back the way they did."

Edinburgh University also earned a point on the road as they held Gretna to a 0-0 draw at Raydale Park.
