LOCAL athletes raced their way onto the podium on Saturday at the final leg of this winter's East District Cross Country League.

Team Borders runners claimed gold in the Under 17 men and silver in the Under 15/17 girls leagues as well as bronze in the Under 13 Boys.

Gala Harriers trio Faisal Khursheed, Calum Tharme and Yousef Khursheed enjoyed fantastic runs to secure the U17 men's team victory for Team Borders.

Faisal finished runner-up in a time of 19.13, Calum was seventh (19.54) and Yousef 15th (20.42).
