A SECOND half fightback has secured Edinburgh University's Lowland League status for another season.

Trailing 2-0 at the interval against fellow-strugglers Selkirk, Dorian Ogunro's team scored three without reply.

Jack Guthrie, who netted twice, said: "This was a massive game for us.

"Once we got the first goal back we had the belief to go on and win.

"We can now look at the teams above us rather than looking over our shoulders.”

Finn Daniels-Yeomans scored Uni's other goal with Jordan Hopkinson and Gary Nicholson netting for Selkirk.

East Kilbride thrashed Stirling University 5-0 to maintain their seven point advantage at the top.

Joan Victoria, Russell McLean, Bernard Coll, Sean Winter and Ross McNeill were all on target for Kilby.

East Stirlingshire fired three without reply against Gala Fairydean Rovers to remain in second.

An Andy Rodgers second half double was added to by David Grant at Ochilview.

Vale of Leithen sprung a surprise at Broadwood by beating Cumbernauld Colts 3-1.

Jamie Broadfoot had fired the hosts in front after only three minutes.

But Chris Anderson’s side bounced back with a Jason Stevens double and Blair Atkinson also beating Sam George.

Manager Anderson said: “We deserved the win.

"We didn’t let the early goal affect us and we created a good few chances.”

All of the other matches were postponed due to waterlogged pitches.
