SCOTLAND rugby star Alex Dunbar swung by Galashiels on Friday to officially open the newest golf course in town.
Officials and staff at Ladhope have been working hard over the winter to create a mini nine-hole junior course.
The Glasgow Warriors centre was given the honour of cutting the ribbon as well as being the first to tee off.
Many of companies and individuals who backed the new course were invited to the official opening ceremony.
Graham Forsyth, president of Ladhope Golf Club, told us: "With grateful financial assistance from local charities, sponsors and members, we have constructed new facilities giving us a small nine hole course for the juniors to enjoy.
"By way of a thank you to these backers we held a small opening ceremony with Alex doing the honours.
"We are grateful to Alex for coming along."
