HIGH flying Kelso were feeling a little washed out on Saturday after a rain-forced ELC decision led to their first defeat of the season.

The Tweedsiders had held Carlton 2s to 209 from their 50 overs.

But storms forced an end to play with Kelso sitting on 87 for 3 after 25 overs - and according to ELC calculations they lost by five runs.

Gala did complete their Championship fixture against new league leaders Corstorphine at Meigle Park.

But the Braw Lads suffered a 66-run defeat.

Josh Irvine's 36 from the crease couldn't inspire the home team to get anywhere close to the target of 209.

A batting collapse saw St Boswells suffer their second straight defeat in Division Two.

The Bossie were bowled all out for 108 to lose by 64 runs against Morton at The Green.

Selkirk picked up their first win in Division Three following a terrible start to the season.

Darren Fenton's four wickets for the loss of 42 runs and Jordan Reid's 46 from the crease helped the Souters to a three-wicket win over Marchmont 2s at Cavalry Park.

Youngsters Ryan Johnston and Ronan Alexander were the heroes for Hawick & Wilton.

Johnston's four for the loss of 13 runs and Alexander's treble helped the Teries to a 38 runs victory over Mazars Grange to stay on top of Division Four.

The afternoon storms were to play their part in the Division Five derby between Melrose and Peebles at Whitestone Park.

The visitors had set a stiff target of 190 from their 40 overs.

But Dougie Voas' 30 from the crease, as well as his three earlier wickets, helped Peebles reach 94 for three from 20 overs before play was stopped - and earn an ELC calculated nine runs victory.

Down in Division Eight, the Gala-Hawick Development team suffered their second defeat of the season as they went down by 20 runs to Clackmannan County.
