HIBERNIAN are not taking any chances when they try to win the inaugural Bobby Johnstone Memorial Cup on Sunday.
Eddie May has listed a standby squad which includes eight first team players for the trip to Yarrow Park.
Despite Hibs squeezing in the fixture between BetFred Cup matches against Ross County (on Friday) and Arbroath (on Tuesday) they have included the likes of Danny Handling, Fraser Murray, Paul Hanlon and Oli Shaw for the trip to the Borders.
Selkirk manager Ian Fergus, who this week signed former Hearts player Sean McKirdy and former Arbroath midfielder David Banjo, is relishing the challenge.
He said: "Whatever team Hibs send down it will be good but the list we've been given is really strong.
"This will be a great occasion and allows both clubs to honour Bobby with a great game of football.
"Both clubs want to get their hands on the trophy."
Sunday's Bobby Johnstone Memorial Cup match kicks off at 3pm on Sunday.
