Spartans 7

Hawick RA 0

HAWICK’S new gaffer Kenny Aitchison suffered a 7-0 hammering in his opening Lowland League match on Saturday.

The 23-year-old watched on as his new-look team crumbled against Spartans at Ainslie Park.

On eight minutes Alan Brown’s cross to the back post eventually found its way into the path of Jamie Dishington to poke home.

Shortly before the half hour Dishington made his way into the box before nudging past a defender and sliding the ball beyond the keeper into the empty net.

Dishington was causing chaos and his trickery earned Spartans a free-kick on the edge of the box five minutes later.

Ross Allum stepped up and curled it into the top corner with the keeper perhaps feeling he may have done better in making a stop.

The second half continued in a similar vein with Ross Allum forcing a good save and Alan Brown hitting the post with the rebound.

Allum wasn’t to be denied six minutes later when he raced in unopposed before composing himself to make it four for Spartans.

With 20 minutes left, Spartans extended their lead through substitute Blair. Fellow sub Dachi Khutsishvili made it six a short time later.

And in the closing stages Michael Herd fired into the top corner to seal an emphatic victory.
