Juju Smith-Schuster, a wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers, has launched a limited edition clothing line with esports juggernaut FaZe Clan.

The merchandise features a T-shirt and hoodie that both feature the NFL player’s name and number as well as FaZe’s logo.

The website only lists two products at the moment, but teases future collaborations. A quote from JuJu on the site reads: “We got huge things coming… FaZe Up!”.

The wide receiver had quite the season in the NFL, becoming the youngest NFL player to score a touchdown since 1964 and becoming the youngest player in NFL history to have over 1,000 all-purpose yards.

A particular highlight includes a 96-yard kick return for a touchdown against the Cleveland Browns.

Overall, the fledgling star finished the season with 58 receptions for 917 yards and seven touchdowns and was also named the Polynesian Pro Football Player of the Year for 2017.

Away from the NFL, however, he has made no secret of his love for gaming. His YouTube channel is now branded under a FaZe collaboration, and he uploads Call of Duty and Madden clips to it from his own personal gameplay.

He also is one of a growing number of sport-stars and celebrities who have embraced live streaming and Twitch.

Other examples include Green Bay Packers inside linebacker Blake Martinez, who is a self-professed Dota 2 lover. When he streams on his personal Twitch channel, he plays with Dota professionals and is in awe at their ability.

When a donation is made to his stream – he adds it to a charity donation pot. Additionally, he has previously appeared at tournaments on streams when he is in the offseason.

There has been no shortage of investment from the American sport side of things – with notable names like Shaquille O’Neal and Magic Johnson two of the highest profile investors.

Jeremy Lin of the NBA has created unique content series for Valve’s Dota 2 as well and has talked openly about his love for the game and how he plays with his brother.

He launched a team in collaboration with Chinese esports organisation Vici Gaming back in 2016 and to this day maintains an interest in it.

FaZe Clan is a true giant in the world of esports. The organisation rose to fame through Call of Duty but now also holds one of the world’s best Counter-Strike rosters among other game titles.

The FaZe Clan Twitter has over 3.36 million followers, ranking among the highest in the esports world.
