KELSO'S Colin Welsh set a new Scottish record at the weekend on his way to a silver medal at the British Masters Indoor Championships.
The 35-year-old, running in the colours of Gala Harriers, clocked 2.00.74 in the 35-and-over 800 metres at the Lee Valley Indoor Centre in London.
Welsh, who is a former Scottish Indoor 800 metres champion, was narrowly beaten by Tipton's Aaron Brown in the sprint for the line.
But he held off the challenge from Basingstoke's Peter Watkeys to claim the silver medal.
