SCRIBES at the Fairydean Rovers have something to write home about after yet again winning the national non-league title for their matchday programme.

Judges at Programme Monthly scrutinize publications from across the Lowland, Highland, East of Scotland, South of Scotland and Junior leagues.

And the Netherdale programme, which is packed with reports, features, history and photographs, has repeated its success from two years ago by being named the very best for 2017/18.

The judging panel stated: "Congratulations to Graeme McIver and his merry team who have produced a top class programme that would put some Championship sides to shame.

"The A5 size issue is printed on high quality colour gloss paper and has a luxurious professional feel to it and is a joy to leaf through.

"It contains a wide range of club articles, general articles, good coverage of youth and community and a generous spread of statistics.

"It is attractively laid out, makes good use of club colours and is a worthy winner of this year’s Gold Award.”

For four out of the past five seasons Gala Fairydean Rovers has been named as the best programme in the Lowland League.

And at the end of 2015/16 the matchday publication claimed the top prize for the entire country.

Mr McIver, who edits the Gala programmes, was quick to thank the team behind his award-winning publication.

He told us: "We are delighted to once again that our hard work and efforts have been recognised by the judges at Programme Monthly magazine.

"Well done to all those who contribute to our match day programme including Debi Ritchie, Liam Marshall, Kenny Paterson, Steven Noble, Robert Fairburn, John Clayton and Michael Riddell.

"Also thanks to our programme sponsor Montessori at Home Child Care, our other page sponsors and Curtis Sport for the design work.

"Lots of hard work goes into producing programmes at non-league clubs so well done to all those programme editors out there providing a service to supporters.”
