FAIRYDEAN Rovers boss Steven Noble admits his worst day as a manager came at Yarrow Park last season.

His team were humiliated in their 7-0 defeat by Selkirk.

But the Gala gaffer believes his young squad will have learned lesson's from the drubbing.

Noble told us: "We haven't forgotten what happened last season over at Selkirk.

"We froze that day and I know the same won't happen again. It'll be a hard game - they always are at Selkirk - but we have the players who can cope with these situations."

Former Selkirk favourite Lee Stephen will miss Saturday's derby due to a holiday commitment.

But teenager Ben Herdman is expected to return to the squad following an ankle injury.

Noble added: "I was pleased wit the way we played at Gretna and I hope we can take that form into Saturday's match."

Selkirk will be without influential French midfielder Florian Moulet through injury.

But manager Steve Forrest still believes he has the squad to win. He said: "Gala are dangerous and we'll have to be at our best to stop them.

"We didn't play all that well against Threave on Saturday but we are starting to win games.

"The boys are starting to believe in themselves again and they are capable of getting a result against Gala."

Saturday's Lowland League derby at Yarrow Park kicks off at 3pm.
