STOW striker Scott Hunter says his side are not out of the Division A title race despite falling seven points behind the league leaders.

It looked like Stow were heading for a vital win after Hunter produced a sweet finish to give them the lead at Chirnside United.

But Jocky Turner equalised, before late goals by Robbie Armstrong and Joe Condy fired United to a 3-1 win.

Hunter said: “We know we are capable of much better.

“However, the title has not been won yet. We will regroup and try to string some results together to gain some momentum.”

A Kevin Utterson double helped Gordon to a 4-1 win over rivals Greenlaw, but they remain one point behind West Barns Star who beat Leithen Rovers 4-2 to go joint top with Jed Legion whose game with Langholm Legion was called off.

An incredible Hawick derby saw Legion fight back from 4-1 down to draw level with Waverley through Scott Duncan with five minutes to go.

However, Davis Hope scored a last minute winner for Waverley to leapfrog Legion into seventh place.

Tweeddale Rovers claimed revenge for their Wright Cup final loss to Gala Hotspur with a 10-1 mauling of Spurs at the Public Park in Division B.

Blair Meikle scored four and Grant Wilson a hat-trick as the league leaders maintained their 100 per cent record.

Their advantage was also extended to five points after Kevin Strathdee scored five goals in a 6-3 win for Hawick United over second placed Tweedmouth Amateurs.

Former Coldstream striker John Crawford scored four as Eyemouth Amateurs won 5-0 over Ancrum, and Duns Reserves beat Earlston Rhymers 4-1.

A Matty Scott double saw Newtown ease to a 3-0 victory over Melrose to close the gap on leaders Biggar United in Division C.

Elsewhere, Mark Williamson’s double and a strike by Kav Cronin saw Lauder beat CFC Bowholm 3-0 and there were also comfortable wins for Hawick Legion Rovers and Kelso Thistle.
