AN Inter Milan academy graduate and two former Scottish internationals are set to join Selkirk.

Yarrow Park manager Garry O'Connor is in talks with five new players.

And he hopes to have at least two or three of them signed ahead of this weekend's South Challenge Cup tie with Civil Service Strollers.

Former Scotland Under 21 star David Robertson played in last Wednesday's 8-2 friendly win over Ormiston.

And Selkirk have gained international clearance for his former Dundee United team-mate Garry Kenneth, who won two senior caps, to return from playing in Latvia.

Manager O'Connor told us: "I have an African player who came through the academy at Inter Milan for three years as well as two good French boys coming in for trials.

"Robbo (David Robertson) hadn't played for almost a year before the Ormiston game but he still looked good. He wants to get fit before he commits to a contract but I think we'll have something sorted out pretty soon.

"We have been speaking to Garry (Kenneth) and I'm hoping to get a full commitment from him.

"The new players will play in friendlies and hopefully we'll have some of them signed in time for the cup games."

It is understood that Robertson will take a player-coach role at Yarrow Park is terms are agreed.

Apart from the injured Kayde Reynolds, who is suffering from a leg fracture, O'Connor will have a full squad to choose from for Saturday's match.

Former Dundee United and Morton striker Jordan Allan is also expected to make his competitive debut.

Selkirk chairman Ross Anderson said: "Garry (O'Connor) is attracting the kind of player we want at Yarrow Park."
