DAVID Bonnar was voted the Gala Fairydean Rovers Player of the Year for 2015-16 at the club's annual presentation ceremony on Friday evening.

The 20-year-old midfielder was rewarded for his outstanding performances over the course of the year and it was a popular decision.

Another worthy trophy winner was Ben Herdman who won the Young Player of the Year while the Players' Player of the Year award went to Taylor Hope, who virtually played in every position apart from goalkeeper during the course of the season.

Despite an incredible scoring burst of 13 goals in 10 games, Jack Hay was just pipped to the Top Scorer award by Stuart Noble who lifted the trophy for the third year in a row.

Manager Steven Noble said: "It has been a tough season is a very competitive league.

"The fact that Edinburgh City have now stepped up to the senior ranks shows that the pyramid system is working.

"The team played some excellent football over the course of the season but we want to be finishing higher up the league."

There were also awards given to the club's walking football team and disabled squad for their tremendous successes in their first season .
