MORE than 120 young footballers belonging to Gala Fairydean Rovers Juniors enjoyed the club’s annual presentation day at Netherdale on Saturday.

The club provides training and matches for boys and girls in the town of primary school age, with a team in each section from P1 up to P7.

Outgoing chairperson Jane Greene welcomed all the players and their families and thanked the club's sponsors.

SPG Security Systems have recently announced a continuation of their deal as main sponsor and new matchday strip sponsors agreements for each age-group have been secured from Borders.co.uk, Tops Car Wash, SGN, Schofields Dyers and Finishers, and Galashiels Glass and Glazing.

Thanks were also expressed to official photographer for the day Neil McLean, Morag Pheasant who made a fantastic club crested cake that was raffled prior to the presentations, as well as Bookers Cash and Carry, Tesco and Trophy Guy for donations on the day.

There was also thanks to the army of volunteer coaches, administration staff, first aiders, child protection staff and the parent helpers who help keep the club going.

Every player in attendance received an award with additional prizes for coaches’ player of the year, players player of the year and most improved player of the year in the Primary 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 age-groups.
