ALL-conquering East Kilbride booked their place in the final of the South Region Challenge Cup with a comfortable 3-1 win over Lothian Thistle from the East of Scotland League.
Martin Lauchlan’s men took the lead through Joao Victoria just before half time.
Goals from Paul Woods, 74 mins, and Kieran Gibbons, 89 mins, put Kilby in the driving seat before John Sherlock grabbed a consolation goal in injury time.
The Lowland League champions will meet Cumbernauld Colts in the final following their shock 3-2 win against East Stirlingshire at Falkirk on Friday night.
Gutted Shire boss John Sludden said: “They came with a plan and it worked for them. Sometimes in cup semi-finals it’s about who wants it the most and they certainly showed that in the last 30 minutes of the second half.”
In the league, Stirling University cemented their fourth position place in the table with a Lewis Bonar last-minute winner at Vale of Leithen.
Vale boss Chris Anderson said: “We played well for most of the game but switched off at the end. It was a lack of concentration.”
Gretna proved too strong for Hawick Royal Albert at Raydale Park winning 2-0 thanks to goals from Ellis Pearson and Liam Studaholme.
Civil Service Strollers won 3-1 at home to BSC Glasgow while Edinburgh University recorded a similar scoreline at Whitehill Welfare.
