BSC GLASGOW goal hero Jack Smith believes his new team have a head for heights at the top of the table after they sunk Selkirk to remain unbeaten.

The former Stenhousemuir and East Kilbride striker headed both goals in his side’s 2-1 victory at Yarrow Park.

Smith said: “We’ll just take each game as it comes but we are capable of beating anyone in the league.

“We’ve had some difficult fixtures already this season but we remain unbeaten.

“I didn’t get a lot of game time at Stenhousemuir last season so it’s good for me to be playing regularly again and scoring goals.”

Teenager Ciaren Chalmers scored Selkirk's consolation.

Ross McNeil scored four before being withdrawn at half time as joint leaders East Kilbride beat managerless Hawick Royal Albert 6-0 at K Park.

Liam Coogans and Scott Stevenson were also on target for Billy Stark’s team.

Gala Fairydean Rovers came from behind to beat Stirling University with Stuart Noble notching a double and Hibs loanee Jamie Gullan also getting on the scoresheet in the 3-1 victory.

Manager Steven Noble said: “It was a good team performance from our boys after going behind so soon.

“In the end we could have scored a few more.”

Kieran Hall scored Stirling’s first-minute opener but Uni had Lewis Hunter red carded just before half time.

Alan Brown scored an injury time winner against Dalbeattie Star to fire Spartans back into title contention.

Scott Maxwell and Scott Wilson had earlier netted for the Ainslie Park club with an Adam Corbett own goal and a Liam Park strike making it 2-2 going into the final minutes.

Davie Irons watched his Gretna team come from behind to earn a 1-1 draw against Cumbernauld Colts at Raydale Park.

Edinburgh University climbed the table with a 2-1 victory over Whitehill Welfare.
