AN injury time free kick by Taylor Hope kept alive Hawick Waverley’s hopes of winning their first Border Cup for ten years.

Hope struck in the 92nd minute to beat Greenlaw 3-2 after the Berwickshire side fought back twice.

Grant Gass scored in the first minute but Conor Devaney hit back direct from a corner.

Paul Hossack put Waverley back in front only for Dean Carruthers to level the tie again.

But Hope’s goal means Waverley will head to holders Chirnside United in the quarter finals.

In the Wright Cup, Langholm Legion smashed St Boswells 10-0, with Scott Collins leading the way with a hat-trick.

Gala Hotspur’s good start to the season continued as they won 4-3 at Lauder with goals from Duncan Kemp, Craig Lowrie, Michael Gruba and an own goal.

Callum Hope hit an extra time winner for Hawick Legion at Leithen Rovers, while Tweedmouth Amateurs returned from the long trip to Biggar United with a win to send them through.

Des Sutherland scored four as Langlee Amateurs thrashed Kelso Amateurs 12-1 in the Collie Cup, while Ryan Pritchard found the net as Selkirk Victoria won at Highfields United and Tweeddale Rovers Colts defeated Hawick Legion Rovers in the same competition.

Sean Clarke scored two to send Jed Legion joint top of Division A with a win at defending champions Chirnside United.

In a remarkable Berwickshire derby, Craig Livingstone scored all four goals in the final 20 minutes as Gordon came from 2-0 down to beat Coldstream Amateurs.

Shaun Quinn scored the winner as Earlston Rhymers secured a much needed 2-1 win at Kelso Thistle in Division B, while Linton Hotspur are top of the league after winning 3-1 against Duns Amateurs.

In Division C, there were wins for Melrose and Berwick Colts.

Meanwhile, Tweeddale Rovers were hammered 8-1 at home to Steins Thistle in the Scottish Amateur Cup.
