PEEBLES boss Gary French admits he"ll be cock-a-hoop if he can land a Celtic starlet for his struggling ranks.
The Whitestone Park boss is in talks with teenager Christian Lawson over a temporary move to Tweeddale.
The attacking midfielder, who used to play for Edinburgh junior club Hutchison Vale, has been told to find regular football by Parkhead bosses.
And French hopes the youngster will take up his offer. He said: 'The fact that we are still attracting players to the club even though we"re bottom is a good thing.
'We hope Christian will take up our offer and boost the squad even further. We had 18 at training this week - our squad is improving and increasing every week.'
Peebles have yet to win a single Premier League point in this campaign. And they host champions Whitehill Welfare tomorrow. French added: 'The games don"t get any easier.'
Vale of Leithen threw themselves a promotion lifeline last weekend by beating Kelso United.
And they hope to make further progress when long-time leaders Craigroyston arrive at Victoria Park.
Manager Lindsay Rathie told us: 'Craigroyston were flying in the league up until about a month ago, and they beat us 5-1 at the start of the season.
'We"re after revenge, but more importantly we"re after another three points to take us further up the league.'
Vale will be without injured quartet Ron and Raymond Fleming, Ross McManus and Gerry Rossi for tomorrow"s clash.
Both Peebles" home match with Whitehill and Vale"s clash with Craigroyston kick off at 2.30pm.
