Hosts win Lilliesleaf five-a-side

IT was particularly appropriate that 'Leaf Juniors won the Major Sprot Cup at Lilliesleaf Fives on Sunday as the Major had passed away earlier in the week, on the day after his 99th birthday.

They had looked strong in the league stages, scoring 12 goals and conceding only one in their three games.

Their opponents in the final, JedForest 2nds, were surprise 3-0 winners over Keith Darling's Where's The Bar team in their semi-final tie but were no match for Leaf Juniors in the final.
